If you go down to the woods today, or, rather, the Milestone Trust’s Secret Garden at Bristol’s Paintworks, you’re in for plenty of surprises. I nipped down after a happy writing session in the Bocabar, and discovered all kinds of magical delights.
It’s really rather Alice in Wonderland-ish, with curious needle-felted creatures, knitted cakes, and appliquéd birds, as well as some things you really need to see for yourself to understand. Among my favourites were the decorated bird houses, especially the cute chick cinema, showing kitty horror films!
It’s free to visit and between 10.30am and 4.30pm today there’s also a fabulous Secret Garden Food Festival as part of the attractions, so make sure you arrive hungry!
